Elin and her mother and brothers join their father in America's New Sweden in 1645. Story of little Elin, a Swedish settler in 1645, longing for the next ship from Sweden to carry a playmate for her. Little Elin Sigstedt who longed for a little girl to play with; when Little Christmas and then real Christmas came around Elins longing grew. When the ship with supplies arrived, at last there was a suprise better than any Elin could have ever made up.
Beautifully illustrated in Vivid COLOR (lithographs) and black and white. Marguerite de Angeli, (1889- 1987), American author, illustrator, who wrote 30 childrens books during the course of her career, along with a number of other works. Many of her books depict life of immigrant children and their families.
