This 1950's French expedition made a detailed ethnography of the Borneo up-river country, besides stopping off in Java and Sumatra to obtain the first photographic evidence of the dragons of Komodo. They also managed to collect enormous quantities of local artifacts, witnessed the Feast of the Severed Head, interviewed actual headhunters, took part in tribal ritualsand brought all their booty safely back home.
