An account of the Mississippi Belle's maiden journey to its homeport. This is a personal journal of the author's experiences aboard THE MISSISSIPPI BELLE, a new 799 passenger Paddle-Wheel boat which was being brought from its construction site in Pensacola, Florida to its home port of Bettendorf, Iowa. The actual boat trip along the Gulf Coast and up the Mississippi River took twelve days and covered 1,527 water miles.
Approximately fifty friends and family members of Belle's owners, Bob and Ruth Kehl of Dubuque were invited to ride along.
