Julie was like no other girl twelve-year-old Barney Sutton had ever met. She had wild yellow eyes that could swallow you up with a glance. And then there was the way she acted, like she was from another country ...or maybe another world? But that was only the beginning of the mysteries surrounding Julie.
Julie had come to stay with the Suttons until she recovered her memory. Barney was soon to discover, however, that Julie knew exactly what she was doing and was quick to involve Barney in all her fantastic plans. She led him at a frantic pace from one adventure to another, and although he had a thousand questions to ask her, there was never time, for off they would go on another escapade. Some were fun and others were terrifying, but they had one thing in common: they were all entirely unbelievable.
The pieces of the puzzle fell together slowly, but in the end when Julie returned to her home, Barney realized that she had left him a wonderful gift, an experience he would always remember even if he never quite figured it out.
