Rosa Bonheur was perhaps the greatest animal artist who has yet lived. It was her passion and glory. Her paintings hang in museums around the world though she is seldom mentioned when great French artists are spoken of. Many of her paintings and drawings are profiled here, as well as some illustrations by Cary of events in her life. Excellent short biography.
