HEAVENLY HAYSEEDS began when I painted the twins, Henny and Herbie. They were so successful, I decided they needed a Mom and Dad --hence Henry and Henrietta. From there on I added the pets --Hopeful the Gingham Dog, and Hulda the Calico Cat. Now Hopeful would not think of hanging around with a cat, so I brought in Homer the Crow, which left Hulda with no one to play with, so in came Harriet the Mouse. I could have gone on and on, but had to stop someplace. They had to belong someplace so their corner of the world became "Hayfield U.S.A."
So now you have met my family, "The Hayseeds" -whose homestead is in Hayfield and they lead a totally normal life. (For most rag Doll scarecrow families that is.) Hopefully, you will love them enough to paint them.
