A GREAT COLLECTION of Peter Arno's Famous cartoons.
CURTIS ARNOUX PETERS, JR. (b. August 1, 1904; died February 22, 1968) - Born in New York City. Attended Yale University from 1922-1924. Arno was a New Yorker cartoonist for forty-three years. He published his first cartoon there in June of 1925, just four months after the magazine's launch. His style is quite distinct, including his penchant for drawing well-endowed women.
Here is the first new cartoon collection in ten years from the incomparable Peter Arno, who invented the Dowager, immortalized the Available Blonde, and put a gleem in the eye of the Mustachioed Tycoon in hot pursuit of her.
Peter Arno's "Lady in the Shower" arrives in the nick of time to remind our solemn generation that between Men and Women, there now is and always has been, something funny going on. Its publication is a smashing event in the world of Art and Laughter.
ALL the cartoons, except one (The Lady in the Shower), originally appeared in The New Yorker.
